Mindfulness-Based
Be Present, Discover Inner Peace
Mindfulness-Based therapy is designed to help you find peace in the now.
Inspired by Buddhist psychology, our mindfulness techniques at Allied Psychotherapy Group are integrated into our therapeutic approach to varying degrees, depending on the patient’s openness and willingness to explore these practices. As therapists, we strive to model mindfulness ourselves, demonstrating qualities like humility and present-moment awareness. We engage in open and honest dialogue with our patients, asking thoughtful questions, challenging limiting beliefs, and acknowledging our own limitations in understanding their experiences.
What Happens in a Mindfulness-Based Session
Our sessions often begins and ends with a brief mindfulness practice. We invite patients to take a moment to center themselves and reflect on their current state of being. At the end of the session, we encourage clients to share a brief reflection on their experience.
Throughout the session, we may incorporate mindfulness techniques, such as guided meditation or body scan exercises. We also utilize mindfulness as a tool to help clients navigate difficult emotions and situations. When anxiety or stress arises, we guide patients through a process of identifying, acknowledging, and accepting their feelings, leading to greater self-awareness and emotional regulation.
