Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Real conversations, real compassion, real change. Therapy in New York City.

DBT goes beyond just "listening to problems" — it's about paving the road to a better quality of life
We offer a compassionate and collaborative approach to help you develop the skills to manage intense emotions, improve your relationships, tolerate distress, and practice mindfulness.
We provide support for those struggling with:
- Overwhelming emotions like panic attacks, intense sadness, or uncontrollable anger
- Impulsive behavior that may lead to negative consequences
- Self-harm or risky behaviors
- Difficulty managing stress and staying calm under pressure
What Happens in a Session
We take a person-centered approach to therapy. We build strong relationships with our patients, creating a safe and supportive space where they can feel heard and understood.
Our DBT sessions typically begins with a mindfulness check-in. We’ll ask you to take a moment to reflect on your current emotional state.
Next, we’ll review any homework assignments from the previous session. This might involve discussing your progress, addressing any challenges, or delving deeper into a specific skill or concept.
We’ll then open up the floor for you to share your experiences from the past week. This could include discussing a particular event, a challenging situation, or a personal triumph. We’ll work together to understand your thoughts and feelings, and explore ways to apply DBT skills to these experiences.
Finally, we’ll conclude the session by discussing potential homework assignments, which may involve practicing mindfulness exercises, journaling, or role-playing specific scenarios.
Note: While we offer comprehensive DBT services, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our patients. If you are experiencing a crisis or are at risk of harming yourself or others, please seek immediate help from a crisis hotline or emergency services.
