What Happens in a Session
Every couples therapy session begins with a check-in. Together, we’ll take the pulse of where you’re at as a couple and identify the most pressing topics to address. From there, we’ll dive into the work:
- Listening to each partner’s perspective and validating their experiences.
- Encouraging open, honest communication between partners.
- Teaching tools and strategies for active listening, empathy, and effective conflict resolution.
- Revisiting themes or changes from previous sessions to ensure progress is being made.
- Exploring new ways to approach recurring challenges in your relationship.
Sessions conclude with a reflection period, where we check in with both partners to see how the session felt and, if appropriate, suggest homework or themes to reflect on before the next meeting.
