My goal as a therapist is to support individuals from marginalized communities and those who have faced barriers to accessing quality mental health care. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
My therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while incorporating psychodynamic perspectives when appropriate. Through CBT, I can help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build practical skills to manage emotional distress. Drawing from psychodynamic principles, I can also encourage clients to explore how past experiences, unconscious processes, and recurring relational patterns may influence their current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By combining insight with practical skill building, therapy can promote both self understanding and meaningful change.
I believe therapy should leave you with a toolbox of techniques that you can continue to use outside of sessions to better regulate your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while navigating life’s challenges. As someone who comes from a culture where therapy is often stigmatized and misunderstood, I understand that seeking help can feel difficult. My goal is to provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their concerns openly and feel supported regardless of any preconceived notions they may have about therapy.”
